NAMI Kokomo

NAMI Kokomo is a family and consumer support and advocacy group. It serves the north central region of Indiana.

NAMI Kokomo was founded in 1991 by a group of family members who were seeking better treatment for their relatives who had mental illnesses.

Its threefold mission is to:

1. Support those with mental illnesses
2. Educate those with mental illnesses, as well as their families and the public with the goal of ending stigma
3. Advocate for more research and better mental health services

Approximatly one in four adults are affected by mental illness, and the stigma that often follows.
